Contributor Spotlight: Paul Michaud
Paul Michaud, pronounced mi-shew, is probably not someone you recognize, but he’s come off the bench on numerous occasions to assist in pulling off the impossible here at Vurb. But before we get too involved with work, allow us to introduce you to Paul the person.
A film/web design student at the New England School of Communications Paul has been in college for the better part of the last decade. He’s been in college so long actually that he’s now officially reached OCG (Old College Guy) status. Remember when you were a freshman and there was that one dude with the five-o-clock shadow smelling up the back row with his 30oz cup of black coffee from 7-Eleven while reading the newspaper? Well that’s Paul. You can’t rush a good thing, right? He actually
attended his early years at the university with our own Travis Steward (pictured right) until Travis dropped out to pursue his career as an online dirt bike video guy…great idea, Travis.
Double majoring in two extremely difficult studies is difficult, but that doesn’t mean Paul doesn’t like to have a good time. When not busting out homework assignments Paul likes to ski. Yeah, we said ski, not snowboard. He also used to play hockey in middle school, which in our opinion hardly classifies him as a real hockey player. We guess when you really sit down and think about it, Paul doesn’t really have that much going on outside the classroom.
He has, however, been instrumental in countless projects involving Vurb. He helped us pull off the impossible at Loretta’s, which included daily videos for Vurb, filming and producing daily videos for the MX Sports show and filming and editing all 99 motos for the Loretta Lynn’s DVD. It was one of our biggest endeavors to date and we couldn’t have done it without our boy Paul sitting in the air conditioned cabin all day designing graphics and eating fruit. Believe us, it’s tougher than it sounds.
Paul’s dream is to one day buy a motor-home and drive to every round of the outdoor nationals, and despite hearing horrid tales of our summer journey; he seems relentless in his pursuit. We’re not sure if it will happen this year, but don’t be surprised to see a lot more of Paul in the years to come. He’s an intelligent mind that we feel honored to have on board.
