World Mini ROTD: Nathan Haas

World Mini Rider of the Day - Thursday
Name: Nathan Haas
Age: 13
Hometown: Graham, Washington
Class: 85/150 12-13

Nathan Haas ripped a holeshot in division two of the 85/150 12-13 class today in front of charging field that included Chase Bell, Darian Sanayei, Josh Mosiman, Justin Hoeft, Dean Spangler, and about twenty other screaming two strokes. He put his head down and focused on riding a mistake free eight laps. Chase bell made up ground on Haas on the sixth lap making the pass in the rollers with two laps left in the moto. Haas kept his composure and shadowed Bell looking for the opportunity to regain his position and claim a divisional moto win. The plan worked and Bell made a mistake that took him of the track resulting in a get off. Nathan got the moto and in doing so landed himself on the Rider of the Day radar here at Vurb.
I sat down with the Washington export to get the inside scoop on the man behind the number 511 Suzuki.
What was your first national? Loretta's was my first national. I was winning locally and qualified in, so I went for it. The experience was much different from the local scene and I have been chasing nationals ever since. My best finish at Loretta's was 2nd place in 2008 in the 65 7/11 mod class.
How many times have you raced the World Minis? This is my 3rd time racing the World Minis and I'm very glad that they moved it here. I like the track a lot better and so far my week is going well.
How did Texas go for you? I got a 3rd in the 85 -12 mod and a 7th in the 85 Open at OakHill. I would rather forget Lake Whitney.
Who are your moto buddies? I live very close to Darian Sanayei, we hang out a lot and ride together when we can.
Do you look up to any pro riders? It's all about RV2 for me. Ihave one his jersey's from when was on 80's hanging in my room. What is your favorite track? I like Loretta's the best and then Oak Hill.
How often do you train? My dad works fulltime so I only get to ride once a week, twice if I'm lucky.
What other sports are you into? I dig snowboarding a lot.
Chics? Megan Fox.
Television? Nitro Circus.
