Number Check: Michael Hall
With the most prestigious race of the year is upon us. All eyes will be on the highly competitive A class as riders are given a final shot to showcase their wealth before staking up against the likes of Canard, Stroupe, and Izzi. Seventeen year old Michael Hall is no newcomer to Loretta Lynn's, nor to winning championships at the Ranch! Hall struggled early in the year but bounced back with a championship at the World Mini’s. He is looking to continue that success throughout his final two races in the amateur ranks aboard his KTM. We venture inside Michael Hall's future with this 10 question (4+2+4=10) interview.
1. You have already showed everyone that you are a champion this year by winning the 450 Mod Pro title at Word Mini. What do you expect from yourself at Loretta's?
Going into the event I expect myself to win, it's a track that i have always gone fast on, and I've proven that I can win there.
2. How many years have you been attending the Loretta's?
11 years straight now!
3. Have you ever won a championship at The Ranch before?
I have two championships from Loretta's. In 2006 I won the Schoolboy Mod 12-15, and in 2007 I won MX Lites B Stock!
4. What do yo like best about LL's?
I think it has the best format, and with the long motos, it's the closest that an amateur can get to the pro nationals.
5. Do you have a favorite memory from Loretta Lynn's?
Winning the Schoolboy class in 2006 was special because before that year I had never won a moto there, and after nine years, I finally won!
6. What is your game plan for after Loretta's? This is your first year in the A class, will you stick around another year, or are you ready to make your move?
After Loretta's I am going to go pro and race the last three rounds of the AMA Outdoor series.
7. Do you already have a contract signed for the rest of the outdoors?
I will be doing the last three rounds for team MDK KTM!
8. So you have a team to back you, and the determination to win. What are your expectations for your first three professional outdoor races?
I plan on doing what the top amateurs in the past have done. It's been shown that we can go out there and be up front.
9. When the outdoor season comes to an end, do you also plan on racing supercross?
Yes, I am hoping to see everyone at A1!
10. Well, Michael, we want to congratulate you on your success, and wish you the best of luck. Please, take this time to shout out a thanks to your sponsors and anyone else who has helped you throughout your amateur motocross journey!
I would like to thank KTM, Monster Energy, Shift, FMF, Scott, Bell, Alpinestars, Jimmy Button, and Wasserman Media Group!
