2008 Vurb Cup Winner
The results for the first ever Vurb Cup are in and, as expected, it came down to the wire. Suzuki's recently turned Factory Connection Honda rider Eli Tomac turned in the most impressive averages of anyone. His one slip up in Las Vegas wasn't enough to take him off the top of the list, as he bounced back with his two lowest averages at Ponca and Loretta's by going undefeated. Eli will now and forever be known as the first ever Vurb Cup champion. We will present the award to Eli at Mini O's in Florida next month, an event that will also kick off our second Vurb Cup challenge. So if you didn't finish up where you would have liked, you've always got next year.
Huge props go out to Dean Wilson, Joey Savatgy, Blake Wharton and Thomas Covington for being the most dominant riders in their respective classes. In honor of Eli and the rest of the top class finishers, we have also decided to make December the Vurb Cup month. While in Florida we will put together five feature videos of each rider which will be showcased on Vurb throughout the month of December. Each rider will also receive a prize pack from us here at Vurb for their remarkable performances over the 2008 season. As we said, next years event will run from Mini O's through Loretta's, so make sure you're ready when the gate drops.
