The A class is already crazy this year, and it's only going to get crazier. There was some intense racing today at Waldo Motorsports Park between Steven Clarke and Taylor Futrell. There was quite the controversy. What's your take?
Well, we're unofficially announcing that we are, in fact, making a Vurb Moto Motion Picture for the Spring 2009 season. For our 4th major movie shoot, we visited the Stewart Compound for a day of riding with Malcolm Stewart and Justin Starling. Joined by a helicopter and pilot, Steve LaFrance, we were able to get some EPIC footage. Stay tuned next week for an official announcement about our Vurb Movie, and a report on our day at the Stewart's.
The Florida Winter AM Series is now halfway complete with the third stop being the infamous Dade City Raceway. This track is known for its deep sand, long whoop section, and frankly, its superbadassness. Some big hitters rolled in this weekend including Taylor Futrell, Derek Rogers, Jimmy Decotis, Scott Elderfield, and Malcolm Stewart.

Despite the crazy amount of rain that fell from the Texas skies the track turned out great. The dirt was tacky and made for some great racing. It was a chore to pass, but that made for some great battles between some that wouldn't necessarily be battling. Still some of the sleepers came out to prove themselves. 
World Mini 2008: Monday Practice
Nico Izzi's pop, Onario, has been running a tight ship down at their property in Albany, GA. Some of the nation's fastest talent is staying there, including the likes of Adam Cianciarulo, Frankie Lettieri, and Dalton Myers. Alot has changed for Kyle Engle: he moved up to the "A" class, cut his hair and set up shop on the East Coast. One thing that hasn't: he still rips on a dirtbike!
The sun finally showed during the last day of racing in Lake Whitney Texas. Yet again the track allowed for some great racing with plenty of fresh lines and rough terrain. There were surprise rides all day long by names that are not always favored to win and crazy moto scores kept the calculators out moto after moto. 
After terrential downpours the past few days, most people were expecting an extremely muddy and slick racetrack. What we got was the exact opposite. The track was absolutely perfect, and offered great racing as the mains took off late in the afternoon. Here's a look a few of the highlights from the start of the mains.
Round 4 of the Texas Winter series landed at the prestine Lake Whitney facility. This race has been deemed as the "Warm-up" for the Spring Classic which is just a few weeks away. That said, plenty of talent showed up to get time on the track, and this race looked just as if it was the national itself. Names from Justin Bogle, to Dean Wilson, to Kyle Regal, and everyone in between came to show their new game..
It's finally over. The 2009 Spring Nationals have come and gone, and we've seen some incredible racing. Here's a look at the final day of the MSR/Answer/Pro Taper GNC Final at Oak Hill presented by Motosport Outlet.
Tuesday night dropped a few inches of rain on the prestine Lake Whitney Ranch, and unfortunately, the track suffered considerably. Motos lined up around 1:30pm, but shortly after Mother Nature let loose again, and has yet to cease. Here's a glimpse of a few highlights from today.
Last week, rain kept the regular crew of MTF from putting in laps at their prestine facility, so they headed down the road to the house of Colleen Millsaps. What's there you ask? An amazing outdoor practice track, coupled with multiple supercross tracks. High 30 degree temperatures kept these dudes in jackets during the entire shoot, and then everyone called it quits because it was too damn cold. Either way, cool day for filming...literally.
The first day of racing was well anticipated and for good reason. The pro classes will show a variety of leaders all week long as well as in the intermediate classes. The track is on a whole different level for 2009 and will continue to be as long as the weather holds off. 
The battles are well underway at the 33rd Annual Answer/MSR/Pro Taper Oak Hill GNC Final. The first motos are complete, the seconds motos have started, and through the unorthodox race schedule some champions have already been crowned. We caught up with Max Anstie, Nick Paluzzi, Jennifer Burton, Amanda Maheu, Matt Besceglia, Kade Walker, Weston Peick, and Tyler Sjoberg.
With so much Florida Winter AM coverage, you're probably asking yourself what is happening over on the West Coast. Well, this weekend we dropped in on the Gold Cup Series which was going down at Perris Raceway in Southern California. 
With a weird moto format on deck for the 2009 Answer/ Pro Taper/ MSR Oak Hill GNC Final we saw some classes crowning champions while others still have yet to finish qualifying. It seems that most of the riders are fully in the swing of things making for some intense racing with alot of new faces battling it out for titles. Eli Tomac, Austin Howell, Ian Trettel, Jason Anderson, Parker Eckman, and Dean Wilson are today's featured riders.
Monday marked the opening of the 2009 Lake Whitney Thor Spring Classic. Mother Nature held her rain off, and offered a track that was very nice, yet very challenging. For a full practice report, and plenty of lap times, be sure to 
Day one of racing most definitely lived up to the hype. The track was in prime condition and rivalries have started early in the week. There is no guarantee for championships in any classes, but a few riders have certainly positioned themselves well heading into the second motos. Featured are Bryce Vallee, Brad, Frace, Ryan Surratt, Blake Green, Jesse Masterpool, Cooper Webb, and Travis Baker.

If you're behind the times, you may not know that South Carolina's Les Smith has made his move to a green bike, now riding for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki. We caught up with Les over the weekend to do a shoot for our new movie, and here's a helmet cam from the track we shot at. Les is looking exceptional on his new bikes, and his confidence is through the roof; we expect big things comes Texas.
Springtime in the US means only one thing for amateur motocross. Loretta Lynn Qualifiers are in full swing. Ryan King was at Cycle Ranch and put together this video. 
Since we're making you wait to see Justin throwing fat whips at the Stewart Compound in our upcoming DVD 'EPIC', Kyle Neary put together this small clip of Justin practicing at his home in Deland, FL. It's extremely top secret, but as you can see in this video, the Starling's have been working on a reverse gear that they will soon bring into competition. His skills of reverse whooping and cornering will surely pay off come Whitney and OakHill. 
A little bit of rain does wonders to the hills in California, and what better time to film when you have the likes of Durham, Baker, Baggett, Spangler, Leib, and Plouffe ripping around. Big hits, sick whipper tails, and one footers...that's what we're all about.

With many similarities to Waldo, this track was tough and got "wicked gnarly" bumps throughout the day. Taylor Futrell has started off his 2009 season nearly perfectly; he now leads the 250A and Open A classes of the Florida Winter Am series after two rounds. His confidence is high, he's going fast, and he's winning races, which is why we had sat him down for an interview this past week at Waldo.

Yesterday was Wednesday, and we had a throwback, and today is Thursday, and surprise....we have another throwback. This time, however, we're 5 years later and at a track 2 hours up the road from Whitney called Oak Hill. As most of you know, next week kicks off two weeks of non-stop amateur nationals. The 2nd stop is at this legendary track, and will be celebrating the one year anniversary of new owner, Jeff Oldenberg. If last year was any indication of what we'll see this year, get ready for one badass track in 2009.
