While training for Texas a few months ago, Brandon Mays had a life threatening crash just a few miles down the road from MTF. Many riders drive the 10 minutes to ride one of the roughest sand tracks in south Georgia, home to Zach and Chase Bell, to break up the monotony of riding MTF day in and day out. Brandon was a top prospect in the 85 class and we expected to see great results out of this Honda Red Bull backed rider in the B class. Unfortunately, that all changed when we got word that Brandon had broken his neck, back and wrist. Rumors quickly flooded the ears of the motocross industry, the web filled up with he said she said and there was no way of telling what was true and what wasn't. This devastating news overwhelmed people with fear, but to see this young kid pull through and survive is what makes many of us believe in miracles. We caught up with Brandon Mays and asked him what really happened, what saved his life and what his future plans are.
