Going from the Vurb Pro Am Classic to the 22nd Annual Suzuki Top Gun Showdown marked the official seasonal change from summer straight into winter. While temperatures hovered in the high 80s all last weekend in Bremen, GA, the town of Blountville, TN wasn't graced with such warm weather. Early morning temperatures were recorded in the mid 30s, rising just mere degrees throughout the day, leaving most racers and spectators huddled by campfires. Nonetheless, the rain and snow that threatened the weekend stayed away, and the event was fortunate enough to experience nothing but blue clouds and sunshine. It might've been cold, but that's life, and the racing was spectacular as always at the Creek.

With big purse money, and thousands of dollars in contingency up for grabs, the Pro Class was stacked to the moon. Cody Robbins is the guy to write home about in the 250 A class. While he faced some adversity from Tevin Tapia, who captured the first moto win, Robbins came back swinging at the end of the day to make sure 1st place overall was his for the taking. Other big names such as Jacob Saylor and Pant Saggin Designs' Mike McDade suffered some unfortunate luck, and were unable to finish out in good standing. After a fall in the 2nd moto, Tapia regrouped for a 5th, with is 1-5 giving him second overall in front of Yamaha mounted Benjamin Ritter.

450A had a similar line up to that of the 250 class, but the results were quite mixed. With a 3 year old borrowed bike, Josh Summey was able to top Cody Robbins for the overall win. His 1-1 didn't come easy, however, as Robbins laid pressure the entire moto, as the two checked out from the rest of the pack. Unfortunately for Robbins, his resistance was short lived and he took home a 2-2 on the day. Ryan Zimmer, who took quite a few holeshots over the weekend, would round out the top 3. Tevin Tapia, riding aboard his 250f, pulled the holeshot the 2nd moto, but crashes kept him outside of the top 5.

Although GNCC superstar Josh Strang was only able to muster a 5th in 450 A, he proved he had the speed of Robbins in the Collegeboy 16-24 class. In the first moto, Strang put pressure on Robbins the entire moto, nearly making a pass on numerous occasions. Robbins stayed strong and held off Strang, but at least the off-roader was able to show he can roll on a motocross track.

Shelby Rolen was in a league of her own in the Women's 12+ class. By the end of the first lap, she had set sail far ahead of the competition aboard her YZ250. Yes, that's right - she was riding a smoker, which makes the win just that much better.
Women 12+ 99-250cc: 1. Shelby Rolen (Yam);2. Sandra Rios (Yam);3. Jessica Coates (Yam);4. Natasha Harrison (Yam);5. Shaundi Sides (Yam)
Tennessee's own Billy Adkins was able to grab holeshots in the 35+ class, but southeast legend Jim Neese didn't allow him to take the spotlight for long. Neese quickly made his move into the 1st position, and proceeded to take both moto victories. Adkins would remain in the hunt taking 3rd overall, with North Carolina's Shawn Wyant taking the 2nd position.

Monster Energy Kawasaki's James Justice certainly had a weekend to write home about. He's been training and pounding out laps at Zach Osborne's facility in Abingdon, VA, and that hard work is showing. Although he faced numerous charges from North Carolina's Jacob Hayes in multiple classes, Justice held it together taking the overalls in every single class he competed in; 4 Stroke Amateur, Schoolboy 2, and 250B. Hayes, on the other hand, had incredible speed and won all of the
first motos. Yet, untimely crashes left him in bad standing when it came to trying to run down Justice in the 2nd motos. He managed to hunt down the rest of the field in all but one class, but it was too little too late for the #573 Kawasaki. Hayes would end up with a 2nd in Schoolboy 2, 2nd in 4 Stroke Amateur, and 5th in 450 B.
250 B: 1. James Justice (Kaw);2. Tony Archer (Yam);3. Tyler Mcswain (Yam);4. Shane Mcelrath (Kaw);5. Brandon Melton (Kaw)

One of the most exciting classes to watch, and hear, over the weekend was the 125cc 2stroke Amateur class. No age restrictions, just fast dudes ripping around on the beloved 125cc machines. Can every race implement this class, please?
125cc 2stroke Amateur: 1. W Coon (Yam);2. Cody Gragg (Yam);3. Brandon Wollenhaupt (Ktm);4. Cody Rowe (Yam);5. Blain Brown (Yam)
