We've all done it before: You're at a local track somewhere , leaning on the fence, talking to your buddies, and trying to pay attention to what seems like an endless stream of 50cc beginner ridaxle2ers creeping by at…well...a 50cc beginners pace. Then, you start to notice one of them because he seems to be passing every other kid on the track. It suddenly starts to get a little more interesting, and before you know it, you and all of your moto buds are cheering this kid on, not even knowing who he is. All discussion of Stewart vs. Reed, and what J-law's problem really is comes to a halt. The talk turns to "who's kid is that?" and ''wonder if he's gonna go pro one day?" cause he's just killin it! Well, sometimes that kid does go pro, and in a big way! I remember doing it several years ago at a small track in Buena Vista, Georgia, watchin some little red-headed kid from Florida destroy everybody on 80s. I don’t even have to tell you who that was. I'm not claiming to be a prophet, but sometimes, you just know...

Allow me introduce you to Axle Jones....

Five-year-old Axle is the son of Richard and Tiffany Jones from Ellaville, GA. They are farmers, Chicken farmers to be exact. And very successful ones, no less . They also own one of the best kept secrets in Georgia. A very, very cool private practice track named Double Branches MX. More on that later. On July 4th of this year young Axle was still riding around the yard on his newly purchased 2003 Honda CRF50, complete with training wheels. That day he made a decision to tell his Dad to "throw away them training wheels." Judging by the photo of him airing out a tabletop, I'd say it was a good decision on his Dads part!axle1

Axle has gone from back yard riding, to riding the big track with "Daddy," to knocking on the door of a top 10 points position in the B.I.G.(Best In Georgia) Series in just two months. It seems like every time he throws his leg over that bike, he gets better. A LOT better. No riding schools, no private coach, just a natural, cant be taught kind of ability to go fast on a dirt bike. I had a chance to go out to Double Branches MX On Saturday and watch Axle turn what seemed like 50 laps without stopping, and have a chat with his mom. Here's what I found out.

1. His favorite rider is Ryan Villopoto

2. He already has sponsor contracts from 9 sponsors for the upcoming season,

including Garne Boots,Twin Air,EVS,among others!

3. He doesn't talk too much.

4. He also plans on running a KTM 50sx Jr. along with his Honda next year.

5. His favorite track to ride so far is Aonia Pass Mx

6. He turns 6 years old on January 13th.

7. And.. he doesnt talk too much.

It’s ok, he doesn’t have to. He'll be telling you everything you need to know when you watch him ride. And you will be watching him ride soon, no matter what part of the country you're from. Give his folks a quick e-mail at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . let them know when you want come and ride, and you'll be treated to one of the areas finest practice tracks. And when you leave, you'll feel just like I do. You'll feel like you were with family, and you just got to watch a future star ride in his own backyard!
