fortnight
Noun
a period of 14 consecutive days [Old English fēowertīene niht fourteen nights]

Precisely a fortnight ago I was sitting in a friend's house in Holland, having just got back from the GP of Benelux's Saturday practice. In a fortnight's time I'll be sitting in on the Glen Helen press conference where the winners of the first round of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Nationals will have just been crowned.

It's an exciting period of time in the motocross industry with the end of the supercross and the beginning of the nationals, teams and riders are having to change their routines, tune their bikes and prepare for the new season. Some will be trying to make up for lost time, others will be hoping they can continue where they left off, either way... as the days tick by, the anticipation will grow into a crescrendo that will only end when the first gate drops.

Is there a better fortnight in motocross?

I can\'t say that there is a better fortnight in moto! Maybe the fortnight before Trav and Wes face off at Oak Hill again, but I doubt it.
