There's Not A Chance |

We published an article just before Glen Helen called There’s Still A Chance. The premise of the article spurred from the feeling surrounding the pits of Glen Helen at the time. The Alessi/Reed/Short/Villopoto hype was at full attention and no one had a clue as to who was going to rise to the top of the 250 class.
The most majestic thing about dropping the gates on a new season is that there is still an outside chance that someone that might not have experienced huge success in the past could have found that extra burst of speed, worked out the kinks with their bike set-up or put together a training program that would send them over the top.
We now find ourselves sitting in the media tent nearly half way through the season, and while this has been one of the most remarkable seasons to watch from a spectator’s perspective, we think it’s safe to say that there is no longer a chance. The table has been set and those dining at the head have already started in on the main course.
The cool thing is that both titles are still up for grabs, and both look as if they will go down to the wire. On the flip side of the coin, there looks to be little room for a dark horse to find his or her way into the mix. The mid-pack riders of the outdoor motocross world have found their place, and any sort of reemergence from someone outside that group looks doubtful. But hey, at least we don’t have to sit through another season of watching James Stewart walk the dog on everyone.
