Deadlines

I hate when people play the busy game. If I’ve said it once I’ve said it 1,000 times, everyone is busy, so don’t bore me with how much you have going on. With that said, I’d pay $100 for an extra hour in the day.

 

In journalism the word deadline never seems to go away. It’s part of the foundation of our profession and something that must be managed. At the moment I’m working on ten deadlines that MUST be met today. However, I just noticed that no one has updated the blog section in the last week.

 

It’s Memorial Day and I’ve been sitting in a coffee shop in Yorba Linda, California for about the last four hours. A little kid just threw up at the table next to me because his dad insisted that he eat his breakfast. Bad move on his part. I’m about to pack up and head back up the hill to meet up with the rest of the staff before I blow chunks myself.

 

As the rest of our video crew and two members of our editorial crew gear up for a summer living out of the motor home, I will be flying out of LAX tomorrow. Upon landing in Atlanta I will then head over to meet the DMXS guys for Wednesday’s show. I haven’t heard the line up of guests yet, but am sure they will be putting together an unbelievable post Glen Helen show. After the show I’ll head back to South Carolina and gear up for the launch of Vurb Insider on Thursday. Friday I’ll be attending best friends rehearsal dinner and Saturday will attend the wedding.

 

Following the wedding I’ll begin packing to meet back up with the traveling circus to hit the remainder of the outdoor pro and amateur nationals this summer. I’m not sure how we’re going to pull everything off, but one thing is for sure, you won’t hear a complaint out of me. Playing the busy game just ain’t my style.
